1. What will happen in my Therapy session?
This depends upon the nature of the Therapy session but usually Therapist will begin with a discussion about your problems, symptoms and your goals. Therapist’s will also perform a physical assessment which includes performing movements or tests that may increase or reduce your symptoms. Also certain treatments may initially increase your pain/symptoms prior to reducing them. Subsequently it is not uncommon to feel an increase in pain/soreness later that day or the following day. Post treatment if you are concerned, please do not hesitate to contact us.
2. What problems do you cover?
We have expert Physiotherapist and Occupational Therapist’s specialising in different areas who can see patients of all ages . Please contact us with the issues and we can organise assessment with specialist Therapist’s for your needs.
3. Can you come to my house to treat me?
We are a Therapists who specialises in home therapy, hence we are expert in treating you in your home environment. All our Therapist’s are Disclosure Barring Service checked and regulated by the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) so you can have peace of mind with the standards of care .
4. Will Therapy work?
Success rate with Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy are high but full recovery cannot be guaranteed with every patient.
5. Do you see care home clients?
We specialises in Care home Therapy provision and usually our Therapist’s help patients with all aspects of complexities including pain and reduced mobility. Kindly check with Care Home in first instance before requesting us to visit.
6. Can someone else be with me in the session?
Yes, you can have whoever else you wish in the session as well e.g. a friend or relative.
7. What happens if I am not sure about my treatment or want a break between the session ?
We usually explain the treatment procedure. At any time of your treatment you can ask the Therapist to stop treatment and they will be happy to answer any questions you may have, please do not hesitate to ask.
8. What should I wear during treatment ?
The simple answer is that you can wear whatever you feel most comfortable, but bear in mind that it may be necessary for the physio to gain access to the area of the body that you wish to be examined or treated. For example if you got issues with knee, you have to wear a pair of shorts.
9. What will the Therapists bring during their session ?
We will bring a range of different equipment and items on visits depending on your problems. This can include massage cream, electrotherapy machines, therabands, walking aids etc. If your problem is of a musculoskeletal nature (e.g. back or Neck pain) and is likely to need manual therapy then the physio will bring a plinth with them.
10. How do you ensure you are protected from COVID-19?
Our Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapist’s are fully vaccinated for COVID-19. Further, we wear PPE to protect our patients.
11.How soon is the appointment available?
Most times, same day and late evening appointments available. Ideally, we aim to see all the patients within 24-48 hours.
12. Do you see insurance clients?
We are registered with all most of the insurance providers. For treatment with us, please check with your insurance provider, if they will allow home visits as part of their package.
13. Do I need GP referral?
No GP referral is needed as we are autonomous practitioner. Following assessment, we will let you know whether you need to contact your GP or other medical professionals.
14. How often will I require Therapy treatment?
It varies depending on the issues. Some problems can be treated in few sessions and others will require long term intervention. Our Therapists will assess and let you know the right plan according to your needs.
